The OSP is designed to help employers assess and record the skills and work habits students and job seekers demonstrate in the workplace. The Employment Standards Act (ESA) provides the minimum standards for working in this province. Includes pregnancy and parental leave, hours of work, overtime, termination, how to file a complaint, and more.
Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers Inc. (OHCOW)
OHCOW is dedicated to preventing occupational illnesses and injuries. Clinics for diagnosing workers with work-related health problems; answers to workplace health and safety questions; education on health and safety issues.
Workers Health and Safety Centre (WHSC)
Health and safety training organization, established by OFL in 1979. WHSC trains workers to give health and safety training in their own workplaces, in communities from Thunder Bay to Windsor, 1 to 4 days. 3,000 volunteer health and safety instructors.
Business Takes Action (BTA)
BTA is a Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME)initiative. Their mandate is to provide the tools and resources to employers in removing the physical and attitudinal barriers associated with hiring persons with disabilities.
Northern Lights Vocational Services (NLVS)
Helps people entering or re-entering the workforce to find work, in partnership with community agencies, government organizations, employers, medical and rehabilitation professionals. Specializes in employer-based rehabilitation. Vocational assessments; case management; early and safe return to work; outplacement services. Based in Minden, with locations throughout Ontario.
Public Services Health & Safety Association (PSHSA)
A Health & Safety Ontario partner, PSHSA works with Ontario public service sector employers and workers to reduce workplace risks and prevent occupational injuries and illness.
Labour Relations - Ontario Ministry of Labour
Focuses on settling workplace disputes under various employment-related statutes, assisting in the settlement of collective agreements and assembling collective bargaining information.
Health and Safety - Ontario Ministry of Labour
The Occupational Health and Safety Act's main purpose is to protect workers against health and safety hazards on the job. The Act establishes procedures for dealing with workplace hazards, and it provides for enforcement of the law.
Employment Networks (Renfrew)
