ACT To Employ
ACT To Employ aims to place students with disabilities in employment opportunities on campus, and to provide them with hands-on quality work experiences while they obtain their post-secondary degree at Carleton University. Starting in Fall of 2019, ACT To Employ will subsidize experiential learning placements on campus for students with disabilities.
Adaptive Program
The Adaptive Learning Program is for adults with physical and developmental disabilities who want to prepare for independence, competitive employment or volunteer work in the community. Students participate in on-site work settings to gain job skills, in addition to transferable essential skills. Possible work sites include the coffee shop, resource/copy room, greenhouse and thrift store. Students may then make a transition to an employment support program in the community.
Barrier Free Employers - Canadian Human Rights Commission
This on-line guide to employment accommodation for people with disabilities' objective is to provide some facts, practical advice and to explain the steps that can be taken in order to facilitate the inclusion of employees with disabilities into the work force.
Canadian Association of Professionals with Disabilities
This non-profit association is dedicated to maximizing workforce and community participation and inclusion of professionals with disabilities. They support all professionals regardless of their employment status, profession, or specialty.
Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW)
This network promotes meaningful and equitable employment of people with disabilities. Job accommodation services (JAS), training, and consultation are among the services provided to people with disabilities and potential employers.
Canadian Hearing Society (CHS)
The Canadian Hearing Society provides services to enhance the independence of deaf and hard of hearing people, and encourages prevention of hearing loss. Services in Ontario include American Sign Language Classes and Hearing Help Classes.
Community Living Ontario
Supports individuals with intellectual disabilities live, learn, work and participate in all aspects of living in the community. They also help families and the community to provide a welcoming and supportive environment.
Community Services - Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services
Services for people most in need, includes: Aboriginal Healing and Wellness; Adoption Search; Developmental Services; Domestic Violence: Homelessness: the Family Responsibility Office (enforces court orders for child and spousal support); Interpreter and Intervenor services; and others.

DisAbled Women's Network Ontario
DAWN Ontario advocates for inclusion and equality for women with disabilities in Ontario. Links to web sites of Ontario disability organizations.
Discover Ability Network
The Discover Ability Network provides tools and best practices for employers to become more inclusive. More importantly, it leverages the Magnet job-matching platform where job seekers can post their resumes and employers can post opportunities and specifically target PWDs. For job seekers, once their resume is in the system, they will get pushed via email job opportunities automatically when they are a good match with a posting based on their skills and experience. For PWDs who self-declare (anonymously) they will not only have access to all job postings on the platform, but further benefit when employers are specifically targeting jobs to this under-tapped labour pool (targeted recruiting towards PWds)!
Easter Seals Ontario
Easter Seals Ontario is a registered Canadian charity providing programs and services to children and youth with physical disabilities, including: financial assistance for
Mobility equipment and communication devices, fully accessible summer camp, funding for participation in other recreational programs, post-secondary education scholarships, parent resources information and public education and awareness.
Goodwill Hamilton & Halton Region
Goodwill, The Amity Group is a not for profit charity that helps people overcome employment barriers and obtain work, thereby increasing their dignity and independence within the community.
LinkUp Employment Services (Toronto)
At its centre in downtown Toronto, LinkUp helps persons with disabilities find jobs through many cross-disability programs: assessment of skills and abilities; employment consultants to help with job searching; workshops and seminars; presentations by businesses. Assessment of training needs and eligibility for grants.
Make A Change Canada/Faire un Changement Canada
Make A Change Canada/Faire un Changement Canada is a federally incorporated charitable organization accredited under the Imagine Canada Standards Program. We develop and deliver business start-up and web technology training to people facing challenges to employment. Our programs and services are available online across Canada.
Office of the Worker Advisor (OWA)
An independent agency of the Ontario Ministry of Labour that provides free services to non-unionized injured workers and their survivors in workplace insurance matters.
Ontario March of Dimes (OMOD)
Helps Ontarians with physical disabilities participate more fully in community life. Employment programs focus on vocational assessment, skills training, supportive employment and job placement services.
Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities
In January 1990, Carleton University opened the Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities (PMC) whose mission is to foster equal access to the university experience for students with disabilities while maintaining academic standards through provision of academic accommodations and support services, in partnership with the Carleton community.

This non-profit organization provides education, technology and career development for people with physical disabilities. Consult their list of products, which includes computer and office assistive technology.
WORKink
This virtual employment resource centre contains labour market and career information, online counselling services, job postings, resume database and other services of interest to people with disabilities, employers and career practitioners.
